When you’re cooking and something isn’t going right you can often fix it in the process. Not enough flavor or salt? Add some. Too salty? Balance it with something citrusy, sweet or dilute it. Grits too thick? Add more liquid. But when it comes to baking…
Baking is some “IN THAT ORDER” type of shit. There’s so much science behind it that you can do the same thing a thousand times perfectly and it will still come out fucked up at the most inconvenient time, because of the air being too humid or some shyt.
For the most part, once you put that work in the oven…there’s nothing you can do about the results. It’s simply a waiting and praying game. Which is pretty much how I feel about my life.
God put all these “ingredients” (emotions, ideas, gifts, greatness, etc.) into me that even I don’t understand sometimes, So I get some shyt wrong, but not as often as I get it right. However, I’m developing, I’m growing, I’m learning, loving, and living in this oven called life. I’m staying focused on the word and not the world. That’s what a “Bakin’ Bitch” does. It’s who she is. She withstands the heat while praying for an ideal outcome, comes out of the oven on answered prayers, blesses the entire kitchen/ world, and she does it all over again without hesitation.
Where most people would say they’re “a work in progress” I’ll just say,
